H. S. Thompson

Hun-Seng Chao, writing as H.S. Thompson, retired from practicing medicine but really always dreamed of being a writer. She loves reading and learning about almost anything (well, maybe not math). Researching for her books is especially fun and so much easier over the internet.

She is the proud parent of two and migrated from Southern California to Arizona.

So far, the first novel of a planned series has been released. You can find out more about the world of 2060 Los Angeles at https://hsthomp.com

Project A
A bomb destroys a downtown café in 2060 Los Angeles with only two survivors. One is the cofounder of the world’s premiere robotics company—and the prime suspect.

For veteran LAPD Robbery-Homicide Detective Gabriel Furst, this case is personal‑his adopted family dies in the explsion. He and his new partner, Irene Bolton, follow the leads into a world of wealth, power, sex, betrayal and a growing trail of dead bodies surrounding a secret project. Gabriel and Irene must find the truth and bring the killers to justice before they become the next victims.

Reviews
“Explosive debut that kept me riveted to the end! Well-paced, atmospheric, and set in a frighteningly plausible dystopian future.” —Maverick Lee, author of WMD One: Triple Play

“A sci-fi procedural? You better believe it. In Project A, Thompson has created a chilling tale of corruption and power gone awry in a Los Angeles of the future. Thompson’s vision is uncomfortably believable, one where strong characters and an intriguing plot keep you up at night—with the lights on.” —Kathy McIntosh, award-winning author of the Adventure Calls Mysteries
