It's All in How You Look at It: POV
The success of a story of novel often depends on the point of view the writer chooses. There are reasons for and against using first, third, or multiple points of view. Starting with a brief definition of the various points of view, Kathy will discuss POV from different angles and talk about tips for success with each.
Bring something you've been working on--or to write on--and we'll do some writing and have some fun exploring point of view.
About Our Workshop Leader
Kathy McIntosh (Board member and newsletter editor seeking a successor) grew up in a suburb of Los Angeles with parents who instilled a lifelong love of books, humor, and nature. Weekends found them heading for the hills, their Ford Falcon stuffed with camping gear and their two daughters squabbling in the backseat.
Kathy’s first novels were set in Idaho, earning her a place as one of Idaho’s Best New Authors in 2013. She now sets her books—all featuring amateur sleuths—in the American Southwest, where she lives with her husband and a “small” Bernese Mountain Dog rescue.
