August 9th, 10:00 a.m. Virtual Meeting
Chelsea Curtis (Diné) is a journalist at Arizona Luminaria uncovering data and stories about Missing and Murdered Indigenous People in Arizona. She created a first-of-it’s-kind MMIP database in Arizona, which launched earlier this year. Previously, Chelsea covered breaking news and criminal justice at The Arizona Republic, reporting on police issues and everyday chaos unfolding across the Valley. Her earlier work spans community reporting, small-town courts and local politics in Lake Havasu City and Flagstaff.
She will explain about her work and answer associated questions.
Our meetings this summer (June, July, August) will be held virtually, from 10 to 11:30, with time for questions. There's no charge, but you may choose to send a voluntary $5 (or larger!) donation via Zelle or PayPal to amwtreasurer@gmail.com.
