The mission of the Canine Unit is to provide specialized dog support to field operations in a manner consistent with the principles of professional public service and concern for officer safety.
The primary goals of the Canine Unit are to provide canine support for the prevention and detection of criminal activity, locate and apprehend suspects in buildings and/or open areas, protect law enforcement officers and/or citizens, provide Search and Rescue support in locating lost or missing individuals and to locate narcotics, explosives, and other dangerous or illegal substances. This promises to be a fun, interesting talk.
