Janet Alcorn

Janet Alcorn is an academic librarian who launched a lifelong dream by Googling, “how to write a novel,” on a slow afternoon at work (in the immortal words of Dave Barry, we are not making this up). Since that fateful day, her short stories have been published in the annual Deathlehem holiday horror anthology, the Storyteller Series podcast, the Trouble in Tucson anthology, and the Arizona Authors Association annual literary magazine. She’s currently seeking representation for her first novel (a romantic suspense—with time travel) and revising her second (a domestic suspense—with a serial killer). She’s a member of Arizona Mystery Writers, the Tucson Chapter of Sisters in Crime, and the Arizona Authors Association.

When she isn’t wrangling cantankerous fictional people or earning a living, Janet gardens, listens to 80s rock at ear-bleeding volume, and hangs out in Tucson with her husband, son, and Venus flytraps. She’s lived in 5 states and 3 time zones, the majority of the time in Northern California (where she was born and raised) and Portland, Oregon.
