July 14th meeting: IRS Investigations; Author Websites

We mainly know the IRS as the nation’s tax agency, but their investigative unit has contributed to the capture of master criminals. Join us in welcoming Brian Watson, FBI Special Agent with the IRS Criminal Investigation Unit and Public Information Officer for the IRS Criminal Investigation Phoenix Field Office, who will present “IRS Criminal Investigation: The agency that took down Al Capone and solved the Lindbergh kidnapping.”  The talk will include high profile criminal cases from around the country, investigative techniques utilized by IRS Special Agents, and a review of the latest tax-related scams.

We’ll have a delicious lunch, and a fun book drawing.

In our afternoon session, AMW Communications Chair Kelly Myers will be speaking on author websites.  Why does an author need a website when we have Amazon author pages, Goodreads, Facebook, and other social media? What should go on an author website? Find out what ought to be there and why (even if you’re not yet published), along with some optional content you might not have thought of.

RSVP by 9:30 am, Wednesday, July 11th to save your place. $30 non-members includes lunch. $25 RSVP’d AMW (not Meetup) members. Pay at the door. RSVP by clicking the button on http://www.meetup.com/Arizona-Mystery-Writers-of-Tucson/ or email amwmembershipchair@gmail.com. See you there!

Reminder: Our prices are $25 for RSVP’d AMW members, $30 non-members.
