September 8th meeting: Homicide Trials; Can Your Idea Be a Movie?

Please join us in welcoming back Chief Trial Counsel Jonathan Mosher of the Pima County Attorney’s Office, who will be presenting “Homicide Trials – An Insider’s View Part II,” picking up where he left off last October. To refresh your memory: He will give us a look inside specific, high-profile homicide trials to illustrate common challenges faced in homicide cases and how to overcome them.

We’ll have a delicious lunch, and and we will also be announcing the winners of the 2018 Short Story Contest!

In our afternoon session, author and filmmaker Genie Joseph will present “Could My Idea Be a Movie?” Find out what it takes to have an idea be developed as a movie pitch.  What do you need to do to get the idea ready to present?  How do you create a compelling “logline” to propose to a producer?  Learn the tools needed and format for pitching an idea to Hollywood.

RSVP by 9:30 am, Wednesday, September 5th to save your place. $30 non-members includes lunch. $25 RSVP’d AMW (not Meetup) members. Pay at the door. RSVP by clicking the button on http://www.meetup.com/Arizona-Mystery-Writers-of-Tucson/ or email amwmembershipchair@gmail.com. See you there!
