Hoarders. The word was made popular by television, but the phenomenon is anything but new. Is it really as bad as what you see on TV? When does it cross the line into law-breaking? And how might it affect an investigation or be used to hide a crime? Join us in welcoming a panel of experts on this subject, including Lisa O’Neill, the Director of Education and Elder Abuse Resources for Pima County and Chair of the Southern Arizona Hoarding Taskforce, Pat Hubbard from the Humane Society of Southern Arizona, and Michael Duffy from the Animal Cruelty Taskforce for Pima County. Bring your questions!
We’ll have a selection of delicious lunch entrees to choose from, and a fun book raffle.
In the afternoon session, board members Beverly Collins and Gail Gibbs will present Getting Your Books into Alternate Media. You’ve written that book, now its time to make sure that it reaches the widest audience possible. The afternoon session will be of special interest to those who hold the copyrights to their written works. It will specifically address producing your works in alternate media such as digital sound and text to speech media. It will also address libraries where your works can be made accessible to print disabled readers.
RSVP by 9:30 am, Wednesday, August 5th to save your place. $20 non-members includes lunch. $16 RSVP’d members. Pay at the door.
